“XOGUN” – an Assamese short film, directed by acclaimed director Utpal Borpujari, has been selected for screening at the 21st New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF).
The short film is produced by IFT India.
Based on some dark and real aspects of modern-day journalism, this film is an adaptation of the short story of the same name written by renowned writer-journalist Manoj Kumar Goswami.
To be held virtually from June, 4-15, because of the pandemic, NYIFF is one of the prestigious Indian film festivals internationally, and “XOGUN” bringing laurel to Assam, has been selected to the festival along with 58 feature film, documentaries and short film in 15 languages from across India.
Veteran actors like Sanjeev Hazarika and Dhananjay Nath are among the star cast of the short film along with some young talents like Rimjhim Deka, Ankit Shandilya and child actors Kapil Garo, Anurag Rabha, Phanibgushan Rabha and Ashish Rabha.
