Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayana Rane has been arrested and taken into custody by Ratnagiri police from Sangameswar, Maharashtra on Tuesday.

The Minister is arrested on the basis of FIRs filed against him by Yuba Sena for his derogative remark on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. He said that he would have slapped the Thackeray for forgetting the number of years of India’s Independence during flag-hoisting on August 15 during his Jan Ashirwad Yatra rallies in the state.
Rane Moved the High Court against the FIRs after a court in Ratnagiri district rejected his anticipatory bail plea.
