Ahead of the expansion of the Union Cabinet 10 ministers from the present council of ministers submitted their resignation on Wednesday. Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar, Union Minister of Chemical and Fertiliser Sadananda Gaura, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawarchand Gehlot, Debasree Chaudhuri, Minister of Women and Child Development, Minister of State for Information Technology Sanjay Dhotre, Babul Supriyo, the Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministers of State Pratap Chandra Sarangi, Rattan Lal Kataria and Raosaheb Danve have resigned from their posts.
According to media reports, Ramesh Pokhriyal is unwilling to continue his post for health issues while Thawar Chand Gehlot is appointed as Governor of Karnataka.
Most of the Ministers tendered their resignations ahead of the major reshuffle of the Modi Cabinet. New faces will replace them in the new council of ministers.
