A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Tripura is ready to join the Trinamool Congress. BJP MLA Ashish Das will leave the party and join Mamata Banerjee-led TMC.

On Tuesday Das has met TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee in Kolkata. Das was in touch with the top TMC leader for a long time.
In Tripura assembly election will be held in early 2023.
