The Taliban, who captured the Afghan capital on Sunday after a rapid onslaught, would be judged on their actions, not their words, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Wednesday.
Thousands of Afghans, many of whom assisted foreign forces, want to go.
“We will judge this regime on the choices it makes, rather than on its words, on its attitude toward terrorism, crime and narcotics, humanitarian access, and the rights of girls to receive an education,” Johnson told parliament, which was called back from its summer recess to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
