The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will start a toy train in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh CM Prema Khandu has given the nod to the proposal by NFR to start the toy train project on Thursday during his meeting with NFR officials.
NFR General Manager Anshul Gupta told the media that the project envisages a tourist-centric toy train service in and around Tawang township with a park with facilities including food centers and craft markets etc. A team of NFR will visit Tawang next week and carry out a joint survey to finalize the project with the Tawang district administration. “Once everything is settled, the project will be completed within six months,” Gupta assured.

The proposed toy train will be an added attraction in the tourist spot of Tawang. The train would have at least three bogies with a passenger capacity of about 12 in each.
Arunachal CM Khandu in a release welcomed the proposal and suggested the team to coordinate with the Tawang administration for logistical support and assured coordination from the state government.
