Union Minister of State for Skill Development and entrepreneurship and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Friday inaugurated Entrepreneurship Development Centre at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Nagaland. The Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) is the first-ever such centre in Northeast region.
While addressing the event Chandrasekhar said that the country will be going to play a huge role in the terms of manufacturing, information technology and electronics manufacturing etc in the post-Covid World. He further stated that skilling, re-skilling and up-skilling and preparing for jobs should be the main focus of the Institutes.
With the establishment of EDC, the Union Minister hopes that more investment will come. But instead of waiting for the investment to come in, the opportunities and need for skilled people should be looked into, both in the State and outside, he added.
He appeals to the youths having more exposure in skills to come back to the state and set up enterprises.
