Indian Paddlers Bhavinaben and Sonalben Lose in the Opening Round of the Paralympics

On Wednesday, Indian paddlers Bhavinaben Patel and Sonalben Manubhai Patel were defeated in the first round of their respective events at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Competing in the women’s Class 3 category, Sonalben lost her match against Li Quan of China, world number four, and the Rio Paralympics silver medallist, in a tightly-contested match. On the other hand, Bhavinaben also lost her match against world number one Chinese paddler Zhou Ying.
