Skipper Sunil Chhetri has added another milestone to his glittering career as he has become the joint leading all-time goalscorer in the Hero Indian Super League (ISL).

The Bengaluru FC captain achieved this feat when he scored in the 61st minute against FC Goa in Match No 69 of the Hero ISL 2021-22 season.

The 37-year-old scored his 48th goal in the Hero ISL to equal Ferran Corominas’ tally after he headed home a cross from Prince Ibara to equalize for Bengaluru FC against FC Goa.

“Today I decided to start him as I had a feeling he would score. Again it’s not about Chhetri. I’m happy for him that he scored, he would be happy too but it was an important goal for the team. He also had a second chance to score as he hit the bar. In the end, though it’s all about the team.” – said Bengaluru FC Head Coach.
