Russian vaccine Sputnik is likely to be available in Indian market by next week as the first batch has arrived, said Dr. VK Paul, member (health) of the NITI Aayog.
With this Sputnik becomes the only third vaccine to get approval in India after Covaxin and Coveshield.
“Sputnik vaccine has arrived in India. I’m happy to say that we’re hopeful that it’ll be available in the market next week. We’re hopeful that the sale of the limited supply that has come from there (Russia) will begin next week,” said Dr Paul while addressing media.
At a time when Vaccination in India is becoming a real issue, Dr. VK Paul assured that any vaccine that is approved by FDA, Who can come to India. Import license will be granted within 1-2 days and no import license is pending.
It’s noteworthy that Sputnik V was the first vaccine in the world against COVID, which has an efficacy of 91.6%.
