Dismissing a petition, the Delhi High Court on Monday, called the Central Vista Project a “vital and essential national project”. And also slapped Rs 1 lakh fine on the petitioner.
The order was passed by a bench Bench comprising Justice D N Patel and Jyoti Singh.
Terming the Central Vista project as “central fortress of death” and comparing it to “Auschwitz”, the petitioners’ counsel Sidharth Luthra had contended that the Centre’s claim on the availability of medical facilities, testing center, and other amenities on the site was all false.

The court also stated that as the workers are staying on-site, the question of stopping the project can’t be risen. Moreover, the HC said that the petition was “motivated” and “not a genuine PIL”
On 5th January, a three-judge bench of the Apex Court gave a green signal to the project. It rejected a batch of petitions that challenged the alleged violation of land and environmental laws.
