In an order, the special NIA court has given permission to Sivsagar MLA, jailed activist Akhil Gogoi to visit his Jorhat home for 48 hours.
The peasant leader who is in jail for one and half years can stay wherever and however he wants to; under the strict surveillance of the security team, stated his advocate Krishna Gogoi.
According to the order, Akhil Gogoi can choose a date as per his own wish to visit his home.
The history maker in Assam Assembly Election, Akhil Gogoi recently on June 22 was granted bail by a special court in a case registered against him in Chabua Police Station. But the hearing of the case registered in Chandmari Police Station is still underway.
Akhil Gogoi, the 45-year-old MLA from Sivasagar and Raijor Dal Chief, has been in jail since December 2019 under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) charges.
