The women’s rights activists are in view that women’s role in the new government should be significant.

On Friday, a group of women staged a protest in Kabul in demand of equal rights and to ensure decision-making rights for women in the political life of the country.

Earlier on Thursday, a group of Afghan women staged a protest in Herat demanding rights and female representation in the government formation.

The protest on Friday turned violent after Taliban forces prevented them from marching towards the presidential palace.
According to ANI and other media reports, the Taliban prevented the demonstrations from continuing by spraying tear gas. Women activists who participated in the demonstration were allegedly beaten by the Taliban.

On the other hand, outbreaks of violence are going on in several places of the country after the Taliban took over its control. On Friday night at least 17 people were killed and several were injured in incidents of the gun firing in Kabul.
