In a dramatic event, 12 hours after submission of resignation, Tripura Pradesh Congress Chief Pijush Kanti Biswas has withdrawn the resignation.
On Saturday morning Biswas submitted his resignation saying he was resigning for personal reasons and declared his retirement from politics.
In a tweet, Biswas said, “ With sincere gratitude, I thank all Congress Leaders, supporters for your cooperation during my tenure as TPCC President (acting). Today I have resigned from the post of president and retired from politics as well. My sincere gratitude towards Hon’ble CP set. Sonia Gandhiji.”
Later, the Party in charge of Tripura Dr. Ajoy Kumar tweeted that Biswas had withdrawn his resignation and would continue to serve the party.
Sources claim that Biswas had resigned from the party to join Trinamool Congress expecting an immediate offer of a good position in the party, but as it didn’t happen, he returned back. But Biswas has denied such claims.
