Both the Indian Men’s and women’s hockey teams have reached the semi-finals in Tokyo Olympics 2020. The Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday congratulated both the national teams playing in Tokyo for their qualification into the semi-finals.
Indian Women’s team on Monday defeated Australia 1-0 in the quarter-finals match and fix a medal by entering into the semi-final.
On this occasion, The Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday said –
“This is a very big day for India, both our hockey teams have reached the semi-finals and it is a very big accomplishment. When both men’s and women’s teams were in Bengalaru, We used to go there and meet them. Our confidence was always high whenever we interacted with them. We were always confident that will reach the semi-finals, just two more steps remain but reaching the semi-final is a very high accomplishment,”
On Sunday India’s Men’s hockey team defeated Great Britain 3-1 and confirmed their position in the semi-finals. Rijiju told that India’s Men’s hockey team had reached the semi-finals in Olympics after 49 years of waiting.
