Vice Admiral SN Ghormade on Saturday takes charge of the new Vice Chief of Naval Staff. The former NDA graduate Ghormade came after Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar.

Earlier Ghormade served as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff( Operation & Training) in the Integrated Defence Staff headquarters. He was also the Chief of staff of the Eastern Naval Command.
He is a former graduate of the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla in Maharashtra.
