Saikhom Mirabai Chanu, the silver medalist of the ongoing Tokyo Olympics will be appointed as the ASP ( Additional Superintendent of Police) in Manipur state Police. Manipur State Government on Monday decided to honor her by offering a higher rank Police officer’s job with a reward of ₹ 1 crore.
Mirabai Chanu won the silver medal in the 49 kg category of weightlifting in the current Tokyo Olympics. She became the 1st player in the country to win a medal in the weightlifting of the Olympics after a gap of more than 20 years.
Also, Manipur State Government decided to give a sum of ₹ 25 lakhs to the athletes participating in the ongoing Tokyo Olympic.
