More Delta variant cases emerging in the Northeast region and a slow decline in the number of fresh cases. Many states in that area have been forced to declare either fresh lockdown or other strict actions to control the situation.
In Manipur, the government has announced a 10-day lockdown. Which is seeing a surge in Delta variant cases. The neighbouring state Mizoram also going into a strict lockdown from last night till the 24th of this month.
Tripura has already imposed a weekend curfew and a day curfew in capital Agartala and 11 other urban local body areas from today to July 23.
Assam and Sikkim have also announced strict rules and protocols to combat the situation. Sikkim recorded around 155% new cases in the second wave compared to the first wave. Sikkim’s government has decided to ban all socio-religious and entertainment-related activities in the state for 30 days.
