Assam ADGP Harneet Singh on Monday takes charge as Commissioner of Police, Guwahati. Singh has taken over charge from former Guwahati Police Commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta.
Taking Charge as city police Commissioner, Singh told the media that he will work for the safety and security of people and try to make Guwahati crime-free.
A 1992 batch IPS officer, Harmeet Singh will also hold additional charge of Additional Director General of Police, Border.
M P Gupta, the former City Police Commissioner, on the other hand, has been appointed as ADPG, vigilance, and Anti-Corruption with additional Charge of ADGP, Administration, and M&L.
In a recent notification, issued on 14th July, the government of Assam has initiated a major reshuffle in Assam Police by transferring several senior officers.
