4 dead bodies were recovered and 19 people have been rescued by NDRF and SDRF in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha District after at least 30 people fall down in a Well on Thursday evening.
The tragic incident took place on Thursday evening at Ganjbasoda village in Madhya Pradesh’s Vidisha district. While trying to rescue an 8-year-old girl who falls down in the well while playing, several people fell into the 40 feet deep well after its boundary wall caved in.

According to villagers, an 8-year-old girl fell into the deep well while playing with her friends in the evening. Soon, a huge crowd gathered around the well. The people were trying to rescue the little girl, while many were watching the rescue activity. All of a sudden, due to the pressure, the boundary wall of the well caved in and more than 30 people fell into the well.

Since Thursday evening, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been continuously working at the place. Search and rescue operations are going on. As per media reports, 4 bodies have been recovered and 19 people have been rescued till 9 am this morning.
The exact toll has not come out yet. ” NDRF and SDRF are working. The land here is prone to subsidence, it’s happening again and again. It will be difficult to say the exact toll until the operation concludes,” Vishwas Sarang, the guardian minister of the district told ANI.
Several people have been admitted to Hospital. Madhya Pradesh’s CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a probe into the accident.
