Tipraha Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) chief Pradyut Deb Barman on Thursday said that the party will contest in all 60 assembly seats if their demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’ is not accepted by the state.

While welcoming Former Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) MLA Brishaketu Debbarma who has resigned from the party, Pradyut Deb Barman said, ” The resolution for ‘Greater Tipraland’ would be sent to the governor of Tripura. We have raised the matter for the indigenous people, which other political parties did not in the last so many years.” He further said, “We have talked about ‘Grater Tipraland’ in the council session recently after which Brishaketa Debbarma resigned We don’t pay heed whether the legislative assembly Speaker will accept it or not. It’s up to the Speaker.”
Deb Barman said that the demand for ‘Greater Tipraland’ might disturb some leaders sitting in Agartala but people made him the leader and not those sitting in Agartala. Therefore the party will contest in the Assembly election and TIPRA MLA’s will raise their concerns in the state assembly in Agartala.
It needs to mention that Brishaketu Debbarma left IPFT, an ally of the ruling BJP in support of the call for ‘Greater Tipraland’. He submitted his resignation on June 29.
