Preparations for Tokyo Olympic 2020 are at the pic. The Olympic Games will start on Friday after the opening ceremony.
But only 22 players from Indian will participate in the opening ceremony. Indian Olympic Association President Narinder Dhruv Batra told on Thursday, as per TOI reports.
The number of players and officials has been reduced in the opening ceremony due to Covid infections and in view of the numbers of Indian matches scheduled on the first day of Olympic competitions on Saturday.
In the opening ceremony, six-time world champion boxer MC Mary Com and national men’s hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh will be India’s flag bearers.
The athletes to be present in the opening ceremony include Hockey (1), Boxing (8), Sailing (4), Table Tennis (4), Gymnastics (1), Swiming (1), Rowing (2), Fencing (1). six officials are also included in the team.
As per media reports, the number is subjected to change.
